Latina women are disproportionately affected by domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and other forms of abuse. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), Latinas experience domestic violence at a rate of 45.6 per 100,000, which is higher than the national average. The same report states that 71% of Latina victims of intimate partner violence reported experiencing severe physical violence. Alicia’s story is a testament to the power
