The Sisters of Charity of Saints Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa dedicate themselves to the service of the youth, the sick, and the needy, engaging themselves to be a sign of God's love among people in conformity with the charism of the Institute.
This Institute from the beginning has developed a profound consciousness that education of the youth is a vital component of the charism of its foundress St. Bartolomea Capitanio who held the youth "very dear to her heart" and committed herself whole-heartedly to their personal growth and development so that they would become agents of change for a just society.
Looking back, Annie reflects on her journey with a sense of pride and accomplishment. She realizes that earning a PhD as a mother was not just about achieving a personal goal, but also about setting an example for her child. She hopes that her story will inspire other mothers to pursue their dreams, even if it seems daunting.
Annie’s PhD also opened up new career opportunities for her. She was able to secure a job in her field, one that allowed her to balance her work and family responsibilities. She was able to use her knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in her community, which was incredibly fulfilling.
Annie’s story is a testament to the power of determination and perseverance. Her journey as a 32-year-old PhD holder and mother is an inspiration to many, and her experiences offer valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of pursuing higher education while raising a family. As she looks to the future, Annie is excited to see where her PhD will take her, and she is proud to be a role model for her child.
Annie’s love for learning started at a young age. Growing up, she was always fascinated by the world around her and had a natural curiosity that drove her to ask questions and seek answers. Her parents, both educators themselves, encouraged her to explore her interests and nurtured her love for learning. As she grew older, Annie’s passion for knowledge only intensified, and she began to realize that she wanted to make a career out of it.
